I have a 2011 Solera RV on a Freightliner\Sprinter chassis with a great Blutec 3.0 V-6 Diesel turbo-charged engine. Have been using Mobil 1 ESP Formula 5W-30. Unit has a DEF tank btw. Could I possibly switch to the above Delvac 5W-40 ESP which costs less and not harm the engine as far as filter particulates, etc? RV is taken on long highway trips over the summer mixed in with local use(stop-and-go).

BEST ANSWER: Mobil suggests you take a look at the viscosity recommendations in the owners manual. If it shows a 5W40 then the Mobil Delvac 1 ESP will work in your diesel engine.
