Mobil Aero HF is a hydrocarbon-based hydraulic fluid designed for aircraft systems. It carries MIL-PRF-5606 and NATO Code H-515 approvals. This exceptional fluid has superb low temperature properties, good anti-wear performance, and good chemical stability. It is made from mineral base oil stock and contains shear-stable VI (viscosity index) improvers, making it a low viscosity product with a high VI. While it has physical properties very similar to Mobil Aero HFA, it also meets "super clean" requirements of modern aircraft hydraulic systems.
Mobil Aero HF is intended for use primarily in military aircraft, but is also used in small private and commercial aircraft as a hydraulic fluid, and in the landing gear of large commercial aircraft as a strut fluid.

Mobil Aero HFA is a premium quality fluid that meets the quality requirements of the U.S. Military specification MIL-H-5606A (now obsolete). It has a very high VI and is suitable for use at temperatures down to -54 ºC (-65 ºF). While this quality fluid is no longer used by the U.S. Military, it is still used in some older, small private, and commercial aircraft. It is also used in industrial and commercial equipment requiring good fluidity at very low temperatures, where Mobil Aero HFA provides long, trouble-free service over a wide range of operating conditions.
