Mobil SHC 824 (55 Gal. Drum)
Specially formulated to meet the requirements of the most severe industrial gas turbine applications, Mobil SHC 824 is highly recommended for the lubrication of land-based gas turbines, particularly units under 3,000 hp used as standby power units, plus some types of total energy and combined cycle (gas/steam) systems. Mobil SHC 824 provides outstanding resistance to thermal/oxidative degradation and sludge or varnish build-up. A highly effective combination of synthesized hydrocarbons and a unique additive system in Mobil SHC 824 ensures exceptional low-temperature fluidity and superior resistance to degradation at high temperatures, preventing harmful deposits from forming, which can interfere with lubrication supply to the bearings. Mobil SHC 824 has a viscosity grade of 32 and a viscosity index of 135. Mobil SHC 824 turbine oil offers superb wear protection across a wide range of operating temperatures.
To combat high thermal exposure of the oil, our scientists chose proprietary synthetic base oils for Mobil SHC 824 because of their exceptional thermal/oxidative resistance capabilities. We chose specific additives that would maximize the benefits of the synthetic base oils to provide exceptional oil life and deposit control and resistance to thermal and chemical degradation, as well as the balance of the performance features. The synthetic base oil also provides outstanding low temperature fluidity characteristics unmatched by mineral turbine oils and is a key benefit for remote, low temperature ambient applications.
